Francois Bouchard Traded to Rangers For Tomas Kundratek

Since 2008, Francois Bouchard has been on the Hershey Bears. Today, that run ended. Washington Capitals’ Senior Writer Mike Vogel announced that the Capitals traded Bouchard to the Rangers for defenseman Tomas Kundratek via his blog, Dump ‘n’ Chase.

Bouchard was one of Hershey’s longest tenured players. At the end of the 2007-08 season, the 2006 second round pick of the Capitals joined the Bears after putting up his third straight 30-goal season in Juniors. He played four regular season games, and also made one appearance during the playoffs. After scoring 20-plus goals and going over the 50 point mark for the first time in 2009-10, Bouchard has been on the decline despite spending most of his time on the same line as Mathieu Perreault. This year, Bouchard has only played nine games this season, and has been relegated to the fourth line for most of those.

Now who is this new guy coming in? Kundratek (pronounced KU-dra-tick) was drafted by the New York Rangers in the third round during the 2008 draft. The native of the Czech Republic has played in seven games, with two assists this season for the Connecticut Whale.
