As reported by Katie Carrera of the Washington Post and later confirmed by Stephen Whyno of the Washington Times, Tomas Kundratek has been recalled to the Washington Capitals. Kundratek was traded to Washington after he requested a trade from the New York Rangers. In early November, Francois Bouchard was traded for the defenseman who has produced six goals and eight points for Hershey in the past 21 games.
The 22-year-old Czech Republic native represented his home country 2008 World Junior Championship, playing six games and scoring one goal. Kundratek shoots right, just like another offensive-defenseman and former Bear, Mike Green who looked like he was injured during the Caps game against the San Jose Sharks.
The Caps play the Pittsburgh Penguins Wednesday in DC. Hershey plays in Charlotte on Wednesday as well.
