Your Photos and Video from Opening Night
We asked. You answered.
We had so many amazing pictures to go through that it was hard to narrow them down! This post could have easily ended up a mile long. We have coverage from the opening Calder Cup ceremony to the auction after the game, and, of course, pictures from the game itself. If you weren’t at Giant Center on Saturday night, you should definitely scroll down to see everything you missed out on!
Photos from Tim S.:
Patrick McNeill and Sean Collins during the player introductions.
Andrew Gordon and Steve Pinizzotto skate away after receiving their rings.
See the rest of Tim’s awesome ceremony pictures at his Flickr page!
Shannon G. sent us this picture of Andrew Gordon examining his ring.
Do you think he’s thinking about writing a blog about it?

The Champs attempt to blind the crowd with their newest jewelry.
Hershey bench during the anthem. I wonder what Perreault and Bouchard saw.
I think Patrick Wellar is just trying to tell him that his helmet’s on crooked…
We couldn’t fit all of Bridget’s amazing pictures so be sure and check out her Flickr page for the complete album!

Now there’s some net-crashing!
Mathieu Perreault leaving players in his dust!
Andrew Gordon celebrates his power play goal.
Thankfully, Sarah was there to document the post-game auction, where the players awkwardly hold up their sweaty jerseys and hope people offer dollar amounts for them.
Try not to scream. This is Joel Rechlicz after two fights in one night from Friday’s game against Binghamton. The hat is a nice attempt at a distraction though.
Suddenly, Zach Miskovic‘s gash doesn’t seem that noticeable.
Andrew Joudrey and Braden Holtby win the award for “Most Serious Auction Face”
But Mathieu Perreault and Francois Bouchard are all smiles.
RocktheRed.net has a great story about the exact amounts that each jersey sold for. Highlights include Grant McNeill getting the biggest bid of the night with $1,750 and Joe Finley making the opening bid on Kyle Greentree‘s jersey.
Finally, George Deibel put together an awesome video, summarizing the night from start to finish. I strongly suggest hitting ‘play’ on this one because it’s fantastic!
Again, huge thank yous to everyone who helped out with this post. We have some crazy talented readers! Keep an eye out in the future because you’ll never know when we’ll be looking for more fan input!
