The Bridgeport Sound Tigers made their final visit to Hershey for the season tonight, and they Bears were happy to see them. They greeted them with five goals and Dany Sabourin and his shutout sent them home with a loss as the Bears won 5-0.

Hershey’s power play was working on all cylinders tonight as Christian Hanson’s first period goal showed that gave Hershey a 1-0 lead.

Bears captain Boyd Kane gave the Chocolate and White a 2-0 lead with a breakaway on Kevin Poulin.

The second period was very quiet, though, as Matt Ford would be the only Bear to score and as he got seventh goal of the season.

Ryan Potulny would then score back to back power play goals to finish out the game for Hershey and give them the two points.

“Our power play had a bit of a different look tonight,” said Mark French when asked about Graham Mink being the veteran scratch tonight. “Jacob [Micflikier] offers a bit more mobility down low then Graham did.

“I do think we were a bit out of sorts early without knowing we had that stall worth in front of the net.”

Hershey plays again at home Sunday night again Norfolk at 5pm.

Tonight’s notes:

  • Joel Rechlicz received a ten minute misconduct after his fight because he jumped at the Bridgeport bench, acting like he wanted to fight all of them.
  • D. J. King played his first game since November 25th against Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.

Three stars of the game:

  1. […] Another full week here at SHoE. The Bears finished out their third week of three games in three nights. As Meatloaf would say “Two out of three ain’t bad.” But then again it isn’t great either when you look at the defensive implosion in Sunday’s game against the Norfolk Admirals. They had just beaten the same team on Friday night. Saturday they added another convincing win against Bridgeport Sound Tigers. […]
