Saturday night, the Hershey Bear Wives joined forces with Mixed Up Productions at Giant Center to help raise money for the American Cancer Society. The players painted their sticks pink, some of which were used in warm-ups before the game against the Marlies, and were then put into a silent auction.

The Wives sold hard hats and megaphones signed by different players for $5 along with the sticks and a few photos of the players having some fun with the pink stuff. “[Mike Miller of Mixed Up Productions] came and wanted to do a big thing for Breast Cancer. They got the megaphones and the hats and the t-shirts and donated all of it.” said Sharlene Kane, wife of Boyd.

“We were hoping to do it in October,” said Kane, “but we heard about Pink the Rink and this big thing in November came up.”

The unique merchandise was a big hit with Bears fans. Now they can look forward to the next charitable event this Saturday with the Teddy Bear toss.
