HERSHEY, PA – Boyd Kane, seen here at the Outdoor Classic family skate, will leave Hershey after three straight seasons in a Chocolate and White sweater for the KHL (Kyle Mace – Sweetest Hockey on Earth)

A month after former Bears’ coach Mark French landed a job with the Medvescak Zagreb of the Kontinental Hockey League, it was announced a familiar face will be joining him.

Boyd Kane, three time captain of the Chocolate and White and three time Calder Cup Champion will depart for Europe. Last season Kane posted 37 points in 74 games. The 35 year-old, two time draft pick has only seen 31 games of NHL experience with the Philadelphia Flyers and Washington Capitals.

In five seasons representing Hershey, Kane has skated in 365 regular season games along with 58 Calder Cup Playoff games.

For the 2013-14 campaign, the Hershey Bears will now be in search for a new captain.
