After a highlight reel goal by Michael Latta in the dying minutes of the second period on Saturday, Hershey looked to be well on their way to their first win of the season at Giant Center. However a third period power surge by the visiting Hartford Wolf Pack held the Bears win-less for another night at home.

Sunday, Head Coach Mike Haviland looked for the 60 minute effort his club has been lacking the last four weeks. Against the opposing Norfolk Admirals, speed and intensity was a style of hockey Hershey played with for 60 minutes, leading to a 4-2 win over the Admirals.

Only 1:35 into the contest, the Bears’ streak of scoring the game’s first goal improved to five consecutive games. Nathan Walker stormed the offensive zone while transitioning and snapped a quick shot past Igor Bobkov to earn his first professional goal.

Despite a period played with a phenomenal level of speed and intensity, Norfolk drew even with 7:50 left in the frame. Alex Grant capitalized immediately following an offensive zone face off with a blast that deflected around David Leggio. Both teams entered intermission in a 1-1 deadlock, but the Chocolate and White carried a significant 16-8 shot advantage.

Similar to the night before, Hershey rallied to post two quick goals and take a 3-2 lead into second intermission. Zack Stortini received credit for a soft goal that pin balled off his skate and behind David Leggio to give his club a 2-1 lead only 5:45 in.

Answering tallies by Julien Brouillette and Peter LeBlanc gave Hershey another one goal lead into second intermission. This time the Bears successfully hung on to their 3-2 lead, and beat the Norfolk Admirals by a 4-2 final. Dane Byers tallied an insurance marker in the dying seconds to secure the victory.
