Ryan Stoa Suspended One Game

The American Hockey League has announced that forward Ryan Stoa has been suspended for one game. In Saturday night’s game against Bridgeport, a “slew-footing incident” occurred which Stoa was involved in. The 26-year-old scored a goal and one assist in Hershey’s win over the Sound Tigers.

Via the AHL’s press release, “Stoa was suspended under the provisions of AHL Rule 28.1 (supplementary discipline).”

What is Rule 28.1 you may be asking? Direct from the AHL Rule Book, Rule 28.1 is described as follows:

28.1 Supplementary Discipline – In addition to the automatic fines and suspensions imposed under these rules, the President may, at his discretion, investigate any incident that occurs in connection with any Pre-season, Exhibition, League or Playoff game and may assess additional fines and/or suspensions for any offense committed during the course of a game or any aftermath thereof by a player, goalkeeper, Trainer, Manager, Coach or non-playing Club personnel or Club executive, whether or not such offense has been penalized by the
Referee.

Stoa has 22 points in 34 games with the Bears. He will miss Friday night’s game in Syracuse.
