The Washington Capitals have announced that they have recalled Casey Wellman. The 26-year-old Wellman has only played one game in Washington this season, getting 9:13 of ice time against the Flyers.
Wellman scored Hershey’s first two goals in the Bears 4-1 victory over Syracuse Friday night. In 37 games, Wellman has scored 12 goals and 23 points and was moved up to the top line last night after Ryan Stoa’s one game suspension.
The recall comes after Capitals forward Mikhail Grabovski went down in their game against New Jersey Friday night. The Caps face off against the Canadiens in Montreal on Hockey Night in Canada at 7pm.
Along with Wellman’s recall, d-man Nate Schmidt was send back from Washington. Hershey plays tonight at 7pm against Syracuse at Giant Center.
