After a huge win against archrivals Wilkes-Barre Wednesday night, the Hershey Bears looked to take that momentum into a two game weekend series. The Bears took on the Syracuse Crunch Saturday night, losing 4-1. They bounced back the next night against the St. John’s IceCaps and former Bears goalie Peter Budaj, with a 1-0 win.
Saturday night, Syracuse would score three in the third period to take the game from Hershey, as Philipp Grubauer would save 33 of the 36 shots he saw. Stan Galiev would score his third goal of the season.
The next night was almost the exact same result, but Grubauer would be able to post 33 saves on 33 shots, with Galiev scoring the game’s only goal.
Hershey is back at the Giant Center on Friday night when they take on the Bridgeport Sound Tigers and former Bears goalie David Leggio.
