Red Hot Bears Prepare for Another Three-in-Three Stretch

HERSHEY, PA – Coach Troy Mann instructing players, getting set for Friday in Binghamton (Chocolate Hockey)

The Hershey Bears continue their preparations for yet another three games in three night stretch starting Friday in Binghamton. The Bears will be on the road and then return home for games against Bridgeport on Saturday and a match up against Providence, for the first time this season. The Bears are playing their best hockey of the season. They have just one regulation loss in their last 17 games and find themselves just a win away from having the best record in the league.

“Earlier in the year we had some three game winning streaks and we felt, as a coaching staff that we had a little too much swagger,” said Head Coach Troy Mann after practice on Wednesday. “They might have felt they were a team that could just show up and get the points and consequently had a defeat. But they get it now and know they have to perform. I think any team may get lucky here and there. So it’s just consistency. I think we are in a good spot with a solid effort night after night. Thankfully the wins have been piling up for us.”

The Bears have the best home record in the AHL. Starting in early March, the Bears will play 14 of 18 games on the road, so every game at Giant Center has plenty of meaning. Hershey may be taking it one game at a time, but they are very aware of the standings and the race in the AHL Eastern Conference.

“It’s (the standings) right there on the wall in the dressing room. It’s something everyone looks at and something we think we can obtain. It’s good to have goals and we are not done yet,” said Bears veteran Mike Moore
