Washington signs forward Anthony Peluso to a one-year deal

The Washington Capitals announced Saturday they have signed forward Anthony Peluso to a one-year, two-way contract for the 2017-18 season.

Peluso, 28, has spent the last five seasons in the Winnipeg Jets organization, spending the entire season with Manitoba last year.

The 6-foot-3, 235 pound forward provides some size to the Hershey Bears, but takes up one of Hershey’s final two veteran positions with 344 NHL/AHL games in his career. Peluso has also only scored 27 points across both leagues since the 2012-13 season.

The Toronto native missed all of 2017 after a season-ending injury on New Year’s day forced him to have surgery on his upper body.
