Ryan Bourque signs PTO with Bridgeport
Former Hershey Bear Ryan Bourque has signed a player tryout contract with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. Bourque had spent the last season and a half with Hershey.
Bourque, 26, is now a veteran under AHL developmental rules. With the possibility of Hershey having to juggle six veterans already, the penalty kill specialist would have fought with a decent sized group of players for one of the limited five veteran spots.
In his season and a half with Hershey, Bourque played in 72 regular season games, scoring 5 goals and 19 points. The Boston native was a key contributor in Hershey’s 2015 Calder Cup Finals run.
If Bourque makes the Sound Tigers roster, his return to Chocolate Town would be on Sunday, November 26th.
