Three former Hershey Bears named to USA roster for Deutschland Cup

On Wednesday, October 18th, USA hockey announced its roster for the Deutschland Cup.

Among the players slated to play in the Deutschland Cup, four former Hershey Bears names are on the roster. These players include Tom Gilbert, David Leggio and Ryan Stoa.

Tom Gilbert spent the end of the 2016-2017 Season with Hershey after being acquired from the Los Angeles Kings Organization a month before the trade deadline. The veteran defenseman played 25 games in the regular season and 9 in the postseason, scoring 13 points for the Chocolate and White. He signed in the offseason with the Nuermberg Thomas Sabo Ice Tigers of the DEL.

David Leggio was a netminder for the Bears in 2013-2014, playing 45 games for the Bears and posting a 23-18-3 record with a 2.63 GAA. Leggio has played for the Red Bull Munich EHC of the DEL since 2015-16 alongside other former Bears like Keith Aucoin and Steve Pinizzotto, winning two DEL championships.

Ryan Stoa spent two seasons in Hershey from 2012 to 2014. In 93 games for the Bears, Stoa scored 27 goals and 59 points. Stoa left North America for the KHL in 2014 and currently plays for Moscow Spartak.
