Philippe Maillet Grabbed His 100th AHL Pro Point

Philippe Maillet grabbed his 100th AHL pro point

Philippe Maillet got his 100th AHL pro point on Wednesday night against the Providence Bruins.

Maillet scored to grab Hershey’s fifth goal of the game. Tyler Lewington got the puck and handed it over to Liam O’Brien. O’Brien sent a back-handed pass from below the goal-line to Maillet, Philippe found a slight opening and got it passed the Bruins goaltender, Max Lagace.

“It was a great play by Tuna (O’Brien), he saw me in the slot and kind of [tossed] it towards me. I kinda shot it backhanded and was lucky it went in” Maillet commented during post-game interviews.

Maillet has 5 points with the Bears this season. Previously he played for the Ontario Reign for 140 regular-season games, getting 94 points overall. Offensively Maillet has been a big asset to the Bears this season, he might not have many points but he knows how to create chances. He reads the ice so well, giving the Bears an advantage. “He’s got some skill, he’s a guy that you can drawback to and to slow [the puck] down through the neutral zone to make offensive plays” Head Coach Spencer Carbery said.
