Admirals Bomb Bears with Five Goals
Norfolk, VA – Bears captain lines up with Norfolk’s captain Nate Guenin for the ceremonial puck drop (Tim Stough – Sweetest Hockey on Earth)
Coming off a perfect 3-in-3 weekend, the Bears were looking to add on to their streak tonight against Norfolk. Without Garrett Mitchell, the Bears struggled mightily against the Ads, dropping this one 5-1.
While many Bears fan watched the game back in Central PA on abc27’s broadcast, the Bears headed down to Virginia Beach to faceoff against the Admirals for their second to last meeting this season, and this meeting will be one the Bears will soon want to forget.
The Admirals scored first and never looked back. Dan Sexton struck first for Norfolk, and along with Sami Vatanen, Norfolk had a quick 2-0 lead halfway though the game.
Jeff Taffe would cut the Bears deficit down to 2-1 with a slapper late in the second, but that would be the only goal Hershey would get all game.
The Admirals would score three more goals after Taffe’s, giving them the two points and the win, 5-1.
