The only thing missing from Saturday night’s Hershey Bears experience, was one more Bears goal. The evening began with the induction of five new members of the Hershey Bears Hall of Fame, MC’d by NHL legendary broadcaster Mike “Doc” Emrick. The new inductees includes three players, Nick Damore, Gil Gilbert and Dunc Fisher. Longtime Hershey executive Arthur Whiteman and PR Director Brent Hancock were also inducted.
On the ice the Bears fell to Springfield 2-1, to finish the two game weekend with a loss and an overtime loss, good for just one point. The Bears tied the game 1-1 on a Chandler Stephenson goal, only to lose on a 3-on-3 overtime breakaway tally T.J. Tynan. Bears fans got a chance to see the 2013 Capitals first round draft pick, Andre Burakovsky, who stood out with his poise and stick handling ability. He’ll return to the Caps after just two games with Hershey.
