Christian Djoos been has awarded a 90 overall “Young Guns-Team Of The Year” card in NHL 17’s fan-favorite game mode, Ultimate Team.
Djoos is the only AHL player to be awarded this honor of being a “YTOTY” member in NHL 17. This season, the 22-year-old defenseman has scored 12 goals and 41 assists. Those 53 points on the season places him third in the league in scoring amongst all defensemen.
EA Sports, the makers of the game, said in regards to the honor; “An excellent playmaker, Djoos makes a crisp pass out of the zone and has tremendous hockey IQ. He is solid defensively, but it’s his offensive abilities that will likely land him a spot in the NHL.”
The card makes Djoos the highest rated player from the American Hockey League in the game. He also received two “team of the week” cards earlier in the year, with one for the period ending December 21 (0-4-4, 3 GP), and one for the period ending March 1 (1-4-5, 3 GP).
