Potulny Gives Hershey Extra Point in 2-1 Win (OT)

22. Ryan Potulny’s number. Also the number of seconds into over time he scored his 22nd goal of the season. That was also the game winning goal, giving Hershey a 2-1 win over the Springfield Falcons.

Tonight marked the return of Andrew Joudrey, Greg Amadio, and the regular season return of Alexandre Giroux, who all are playing for Springfield. Giroux got the game started off with a quick wrister from the face-off dot, and getting one past Dany Sabourin, making it 1-0 Springfield.

That was the only lead of the game the Falcons would get. Matt Pope would tie the game up at one off of a Sean Collins shot that went wide and came right to Pope.

Very little action would happen between Pope’s goal at 2:29 in the 2nd. Greg Amadio would drop the mitts with Andrew Carroll, but that was the high point of the 37:31 between Pope’s goal and Potulny’s game winner.

That game winner came on the power play, the only power play goal scored all night. Four points on the weekend for Hershey, winning their first two game of March after losing their last five of February.
