Earlier today, the AHL and the Hershey Bears announced that goalie Braden Holtby has been named CCM/AHL Goaltender of the Month for December. The 23-year-old netminder appeared in ten games last month, putting up a 1.69 goals-against average, a .943 save percentage, and three shutouts.
Holtby went 5-4-1 in the month, with 6 of those game allowing one goal or less. With 73 wins and 14 shutouts in the Chocolate and White, Holtby is 7th and 5th respectively all time in Bears history. If the NHL Lockout ends, it will most likely be the end to Holtby’s great run in Hershey, he will go down as one of the top Bears goalies of all time.
