Tomas Kundratek Named to the AHL All-Star Game
HERSHEY, PA – Tomas Kundratek speaks to the media at last night’s family skate at Hersheypark Stadium (Kyle Mace – Sweetest Hockey on Earth)
Last night at the Hershey Bears family skate at the Outdoor Rink inside Hersheypark Stadium, Doug Yingst gathered around the Bears and spoke to them. This wasn’t about the angles of the stadium or how the lighting will look for the outdoor game, this was about one of their teammates. Tomas Kundratek learned he was named to the 2013 AHL All-Star game in Providence.
Drafted by the New York Rangers in the 2008 draft, the 23-year-old Czech was traded to Hershey for Francois Bourchard back on November 8, 2011. Since then, it has been all uphill for him; scoring 12 goals and 23 points in 55 games for Hershey, getting recalled to Washington and playing his first NHL game, and even winning Hershey’s hardest shot competition earlier this season. So far this season, “Kundy” has amassed 12 goals and 24 points in only 39 games.
Included on the All-Star game roster are former Bears Chris Bourque (Providence Bruins) and Quintin Laing (Abbotsford Heat.) Lang will also captain the Western Conference team this year.
