abc27 to Televise Six Hershey Bear Road Games

There is a lot more than meets the eye when it comes to televising Hershey Bears games. But this season abc27 and the Hershey Bears have teamed up for the biggest schedule of televised regular season road games in team history.

abc27 will televise six road games starting this Sunday in Bridgeport. abc27 will use it’s RTV digital channel to televise the games, just like they have used the abc27 Weather Channel to televise high school and other local sporting events.

abc27 televised the final four games of the 2010 Calder Cup finals, when the Bears won three straight in Texas and then went onto win the final game at home.

The voice of the Bears Scott Stuccio will team up with abc27 Sports Director Gregg Mace to call the action. Stuccio is no stranger to television. Scott was the Chief Meteorologist at WYOU-TV in Scranton for over a decade, before moving to hockey broadcasting. Mace is in his 34th season of covering the Hershey Bears. He has also provided color commentary for the abc27 broadcasts for over a decade, working with the now voice of the Washington Capitals John Walton and the now voice of the Tampa Bay Lightning, Dave Mishkin.

“We’re excited about bringing the Bears back to abc27. We got tremendous response to televising the Calder Cup finals,” said Mace. “Thanks to the Bears and Hershey Entertainment and Resorts for their support in our telecasts.”

Here is the schedule of games and where they can be seen. Fans who do not have cable or cable packages that receive these channels, can still pick up abc27’s over the air signal with an antenna and tuning to 27.2
