Have you ever heard of the Shorty Awards? (No, it is not the best short-handed goal of the year award, though we do think Chris Bourque and Christian Hanson would have a good chance at winning it.) It is an online award for the best social media producers or as they like to say “The Shorty Awards honor the best of social media, recognizing the people and organizations producing real-time short form content on across Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, YouTube, Foursquare, and the rest of the social Web,” and there is a reason why we are telling you about this…

We want YOU to nominate Sweetest Hockey on Earth for a Shorty Award in Hockey! There is many ways you can nominate us for the award, but first you must have a Twitter (and when you make one, you should follow us and all of our writers, Kathryn, Kyle, and Brian.) The best part about voting is you don’t have to sign up for anything!! Just have your twitter and you are ready to go!

The first way is to go to the Shorty Award website and fill out their form on the hockey page and write something like this

The second way is just to tweet from any of your Twitter apps or Twitter.com itself. You could even copy and paste this into your tweet!

I nominate @sweetesthockey for a Shorty Award in #hockey because I love their #hbh coverage!!

The final way is the simple tweet

#shortyawards @sweetesthockey #hockey GO BEARS!

That is when you are watching the Bears game from your seat at Giant Center and you want to nominate us.
