Struggles for Hershey Continue, Lose 4-1

After a tough loss in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, the Bears looked to bounce back against the Connecticut Whale. That was not the case tonight as the Bears could only score one goal tonight, three less than the Whale, who scored four and got the two points in the standings, beating Hershey 4-1.

The game started off just how it would end; with Tommy Grant from the Whale scoring. Connecticut scored the first goal of the game with only four minutes left in the first with Tommy Grant scoring for the Whale.

That lead would not even last two minutes as Cody Eakin would deflect Tomas Kundratek’s, tying the game at one-a-piece. That would be the final goal Hershey would score.

The Whale scored three unanswered goals, including the game winner from Kris Newbury in the second, handing Hershey their sixth loss in seven games.

Notes:

  • New Bear Kevin Marshall took a puck off the face tonight. As reported by Tim Leone of The Patriot News, Marshall did lose teeth.
  • Tonight also marked the return of Francois Bouchard to Hershey, but as Leone would also report, Bouchard hurt his wrist during the second period and was worried he might have broken it.
  • Brother of Chris Bourque, Ryan, was also playing for Connecticut tonight
