Bears Bounce Back After Canada Trip

After a tough road trip up to St. John’s, the Bears were looking to bounce back with a three in three this weekend. Friday night was the first of that three in three as the Bears face offed against the Adirondack Phantoms. It was like any other Bears-Phantoms game: penalties and goals. This time the Bears came out on top, 6-3.

With a packed house of 10,855 fans to see Friday night’s game, the Bears did not disappoint. Tomas Kundratek got the Bears on the board first with his ninth goal of the season. That would be the only score for the first period, arguably the most boring compared to the rest of the game.

The Phantoms took their only lead of the game when Brandon Manning and former Bear Matt Ford scored back to back goal for the Phantoms.

Then Hershey showed why they are the Hershey Bears. Garrett Mitchell, Kyle Greentree, Cody Eakin, and Mike Carman would all score in the final ten minutes of the second, giving Hershey a 5-2 lead.

But they weren’t done. Greentree would get his second goal of the game on the power play, which Hershey went three for eight tonight on. 6-2 the Bears would lead until Dany Sabourin, who was making great saves left and right all night long, gave up a shorthanded goal goal late. But that could not stop Hershey from getting the two points.
