Bears defenseman Bobby Shea was suspended one game by the AHL Monday. Shea received the suspension for his actions during Thursday’s game against Albany. Shea threw a late punch, knocking down Ben Thomson at the end of their fight in the third period. Shea was ejected from the game as the fight was the second of the night.

After Saturday’s game, he was sent to South Carolina and the ECHL. This mean his suspension will not be served until he is recalled by Hershey later this season, confirmed by Bears PR director, Scott Stuccio.

The Bears take on the Springfield Falcons Saturday night in Massachusetts at 7 p.m. to kick off the regular season.
