Update on Justin Peters Situation

This is an update on a story we ran Thursday afternoon on a report from St. Louis Blue’s rinkside reporter Andy Strickland. Strickland reported that Bears goaltender Justin Peters was “given permission to seek trade in an effort to find an NHL home.”

The Washington Capitals have now clarified that there in no truth to this rumor. The Capitals told Chocolate Hockey that Peters is very happy playing in Hershey and that the report from Strickland is not true.

Peters is slated to start tonight’s game against Lehigh Valley as the Bears kick off a three-in-three weekend series.
