Ryan Bourque signs AHL deal with Bridgeport

Former Hershey Bear Ryan Bourque has signed an AHL contract with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers after agreeing to an AHL PTO earlier in the week.

Bourque, after waiting all summer before signing with Bridgeport, will play in the same division as Hershey for the 2017-18 season. His return to Chocolate Town will be November 26th.

The Bridgeport Sound Tigers announced today forward Ryan Bourque has agreed to terms on an American Hockey League contract for the 2017-18 season.

Bourque, 26, recorded 14 points (four goals, 10 assists) in 53 games with the Hershey Bears last season. He was also a key contributor to Hershey’s Calder Cup Finals run in 2015 with five points (two goals, three assists) in 21 playoff games.

Prior to his time in Chocolate Town, Bourque played parts of five seasons in Hartford between the Wolf Pack and Connecticut Whale, and served as team captain during the 2015-16 campaign. He has 141 points (62 goals, 79 assists) in 397 AHL games dating back to his pro debut in 2011.

On the international stage, the 5’9, 185-pound winger helped Team USA capture a gold medal at the 2010 Under-20 World Junior Championships, one year after leading the Under-18 squad to a gold medal in 2009.
