Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins Goalie Casey DeSmith Gets “The Office” Themed Masks

Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins goalie Casey DeSmith gets “The Office” themed masks

One of the most popular television programs of the last decade has now been commemorated in the form of a hockey goalie mask.

The show “The Office” is based in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Also based in the same area are the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the American Hockey League. This season, goalie Casey DeSmith will be showing off his love for the Dunder Mifflin Paper Company in the form of artwork on his masks.

DeSmith will be using a similar design to his mask last season. But instead of featuring the Pittsburgh Penguins’ 50th-anniversary logo on the chin of his face protection, it will have a coffee mug with the phrase “World’s Best Boss,” a reference Steve Carell’s character in the show, Michael Scott, mug he proudly displays in various episodes.

Other references to the show include a Scranton Electic City sign, “The Office” logos, a Dunder Mifflin Paper Company Inc. logo, and a “Schrute Farms Bed and Breakfast” logo.

“They say goalies are superstitious…’I’m not superstitious, but I’m a little stitious'” DeSmith said in an Instagram post with the masks. “Couldn’t play in WB-Scranton and not pay tribute to my favorite show.”

The masks were designed by Jesse’s Custom Design based out of Massachusetts.

We are a little disappointed that DeSmith didn’t include the mask Dwight wore during CPR training, though.
