A Bunch Of Hershey Bears Players Are Missing From NHL 18

A bunch of Hershey Bears players are missing from NHL 18

NHL 18 is over two months old this week. The game, which was released on September 15, adds a number of new features but retains an incredible amount of accuracy to the season as it goes along. Every so often, the in-game rosters are updated to reflect injuries, call-ups, and any players affected by injury.

There have been eight such updates so far this season, and reflect moves such as the recalls of Chandler Stephenson and Madison Bowey to Washington.

However, as of Tuesday, Bears fans who play the game will notice something off about NHL 18’s depiction of the Chocolate and White: a bunch of Bears regulars are missing. Not just one or two players, but a decent list comprised of Hershey’s numerous rookies this season. Connor Hobbs, Lucas Johansen, Mathias Bau, Hampus Gustafsson, Mason Mitchell, Kris Bindulis, and Jonas Siegenthaler (ed. note: we were informed that Siegenthaler is actually in the game, but is on the wrong team. Look for the National League, ZSC Lions and you can transfer him to the Bears roster.) are seven members of Hershey’s roster that aren’t present on the current NHL 18 roster.

Interestingly, this seems to not be the case with many other rookies around the AHL. Lehigh Valley’s Oskar Lindblom and Mike Vecchione are on the Phantoms roster, and Toronto’s Mason Marchment can be found in the Marlies virtual lineup.

With NHL 18 being such a popular game, it’s somewhat frustrating for Bears fans not being able to play with some of the newest members of the Chocolate and White this season. So we’ve come up with a plan to let EA Sports know about the missing members.

Tweet the link to this story along with: “Hey @EASPORTSNHL, we want to play with our favorite Hershey Bears! Could you please add these players to the game in next roster update?” to help bring attention to this issue to EA Sports

(Or you can just use this ClickToTweet link.)

If you are from EA and happen to see this article, we’ve got you covered. Here’s all the information, directly from the AHL and our personal observations this season, that you need to create some of our favorite Bears for the game. Or, if you’re not from EA and want to create your own Bears players, here you go!

If you’re also looking for a few more simple corrections to make your Bears roster the best it can be, Travis Boyd is actually right-handed despite the fact he is listed as a left-hander in the game for the third consecutive year, and Garrett Mitchell sports the number 36 for Hershey, not 40.

UPDATE: EA Sports released a roster update a few hours after we published…and they’ve actually screwed up the Bears roster even more. Siegenthaler is in the game, but not on the right team (ZSC Lions), Kris Bindulis was added, but Vitek Vanecek was removed from Hershey’s lineup (moved to South Carolina). Five players are still missing.
