Aaron Ness placed on waivers by Washington

The shuffling of Bears and Caps players continued this afternoon with defenseman Aaron Ness being placed on waivers Tuesday at noon. Ness had played in just eight games for the Caps, recording one assist and eight penalty minutes.

The move comes as another former Hershey Bear defenseman Christian Djoos returns to the Caps lineup coming off an injury.

If Ness clears waivers, he could be assigned to Hershey and join the Bears, giving them a huge addition to their blueline. But at the same time, Hershey would be carrying six AHL veterans, forcing them to scratch one healthy “vet” each night. Those players include Captain Garrett Mitchell, John Albert, Anthony Peluso, Chris Bourque, and Zach Sill.

Mitchell and Albert were full participants at Tuesday’s practice as the two have been out with injuries.

Ness could see the ice as early as Friday night when Hershey travels to Lehigh Valley for an Atlantic Division match-up.
