Chris Bourque’s son picks Riley Barber as his favorite Hershey Bear (Video)

During the first intermission, Chris Bourque stepped onto the ice to be the Fairview Golf Course Player Interview with Jim Jones. But unlike other players, Bourque stuck around after his chat with Jonesy to watch the intermission Youth On Ice game. That’s because his son, Kingston, was one of the members of the Bears Bites team playing after the interview.

Chris would greet Kingston with a hug and some words of encouragement after the game before having to return to the locker room for the rest of the Bears game vs. Wilkes-Barre.

During the second intermission, it was Kingston’s turn to chat with Jonesy as the Youth Player of the Game, where he was asked some of the same questions other youth players were asked. What do you want to be when you grow up? (Hockey player). Do you want to play for the Bears? (Of course). And who is your favorite Hershey Bears player?

Well, that answer was not so simple. You see, despite the fact that his father is a member of the team, Kingston didn’t pick him. He picked none other than Riley Barber.

What’s even better is Kingston was asked another question: who is your favorite Bourque that plays hockey? His options were himself, his Uncle and former Bear Ryan, his grandfather and former Boston Bruin, Ray, and his father once again. His answer that time? “Me.”

Last week, Kingston was spotted watching his dad’s press conference after Chris scored the overtime winner for the Bears against Wilkes-Barre. Apparently, that was not enough for the young Bourque to make his dad #1 in either category.
