PennLive.com writer Dave Sottile is reporting that Bears forward Liam O’Brien will be out the next four to six weeks with an MCL injury. O’Brien, 21, has played in 12 games for Hershey this season, scoring one goal and one assist. This is the second big loss for Hershey in as many weeks as it was learned that Jakub Vrana would be missing 3-4 months after wrist surgery.

Sunday night at the Hershey Bears and Lehigh Valley Phantoms game, the first ever “Whiteboard Delay” in hockey history took place in Giant Center.

During Hershey Bears opening night ceremonies, team President and General Manager Doug Yingst announced he will be retiring at the end of the 2015-16 season.
This season will be Yingst’s 34th with the organization, spending the last 18 as president and gm. In 1996, Yingst was named general manager of the hockey club, winning a Calder Cup that season, his first of four in that position with the Bears. Those four Calder Cup victories as GM is tied for most in AHL history.

Tuesday afternoon the Hershey Bears released images of the 1980 throwback jerseys that will be worn Saturday night for the Bears home opener.

Chris Garrett and Kara Duffy of Fox 43 spent Wednesday morning at Giant Center with the Bears to take a look at everything Chocolate and White related. The two spoke to Bears coaches Troy Mann and Bryan Helmer, President and GM Doug Yingst, Brandon Sheaffer of Great Saves Productions, and Mike Miller of Mixed Up Productions about the up coming Pink the Rink night, featuring the pink specially jerseys.

Thursday afternoon the Hershey Bears released photos of the 2015 breast cancer jerseys that will be worn during warm-ups Sunday night against Hartford. The jerseys feature words like love, strength, faith, and hope all over the jersey. The jerseys will be auctioned off with a silent auction on the concourse.
