The 2018 State of Chocolate Hockey

Hockey season has returned, and so has Chocolate Hockey. We are back for our ninth season covering the Hershey Bears with a new goal in mind.

As some of you may have noticed, we went on a hiatus in late February after the conclusion of the Olympic games. I quickly discovered back in January it was practically impossible to juggle a full college schedule and running a hockey news website at the same time. I decided to take a step back from the site and focus entirely on my education through early May. I addressed all of that in a video after my last final in May if you have not seen that.

Guess whose got a new look: 2017 State of Chocolate Hockey

Hockey season is upon us once again and Chocolate Hockey is back for its eighth season. This season our goal is to bring you both the best coverage and best original content of the Hershey Bears from any outlet either on air, online or in print, and we won’t stop until we accomplish that goal. We Want Your Photos From Opening Night

Sweetest Hockey on Earth needs your help! Saturday is going to be a huge day for Bears fans. They get to witness the hanging of the newest championship banner and see the team play their first home game of the season! If the Caps are using the motto “Stay angry” for this season, then I propose that the Bears go with “Stay champions.” Every championship team needs a loyal following and Hershey has the best fans in the entire league.

Using fan input, Russian Machine Never Breaks composed one of the most comprehensive and interesting recaps of the Caps Convention. Much in the same vein, we are creating one giant entry with all the news from opening night. Kyle M. and I will be there, tweeting about the game, taking pictures, and cheering on the team. But we want to hear from the other fans too!

Wherever you’re sitting, let’s see this game from your perspective! Take pictures and videos. Document the ceremony, the game, and the concourse. We want it all! Once you’re finished partying it up in Giant Center, send your photos and stories over to thecrew@chocolatehockey.com. We’ll put them all together and create an entry covering the night from many angles. Hershey Entertainment is even making it easier on you by allowing all cameras in Giant Center tomorrow night.

The game isn’t a sellout yet but there are a dwindling number of tickets left. If you don’t already have tickets, act fast because you’re going to be missing out on a party!
