After Tuesday’s close win over the St. John’s IceCaps, the Hershey Bears have now won six of their last eight games. Braden Holtby was once again on top of his game, stopping 32 of 33 St. John’s shots. Tomas Kundratek recorded the game-winning goal on the power play just 40 seconds into the third period, to give Hershey a 2-1 lead.

Hershey Falls Short Despite Third Period Onslaught

The Hershey Bears attempted a three games in three nights sweep for the first time this season against the Western Conference Hamilton Bulldogs. The Bears, down a goal in the third period dominated play in the offensive zone, threatening to tie the game at three. Hamilton goaltender Cedrick Desjardins halted Hershey, denying them of a heroic third goal, and defeated the Bears by a score of 3-2.

Kevin Marshall’s OT Winner Beats Penguins, 5-4

With momentum riding high in the Hershey Bears’ locker room following a win in our nation’s capital, the Bears looked to carry that momentum to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. Kevin Marshall recorded his first and only shot of the game at the 3:18 mark of overtime, and capitalized on Penguins’ goaltender Jeff Zatkoff to send the Bears past the W-B for the forth time this season, 5-4.

Potulny’s Game-Winner Leads Hershey Past Norfolk


Washington, DC – The opening faceoff of the AHL Showcase at Verizon Center (Kyle Mace – Sweetest Hockey on Earth)

It was a night not only Hershey Bears fans have waited for, but also Washington Capitals fans. With the NHL lacking a Collective Bargaining Agreement since September 16, Capitals fans stormed the gates of Verizon Center for the first time this season to view an American Hockey League Showcase.

With the season series tied at 1-1 entering Thursday, the Hershey Bears battled the Norfolk Admirals in our Nation’s Capital. Ryan Potulny scored his first goal of the season which proved to be the game-winner at the 4:26 mark of the third period to give the Bears a 2-1 lead, and eventual win.

Hershey Scores Five to Sink Admirals

It may not be Summer time, but Wednesday the Hershey Bears traveled south near Virginia Beach to face the Norfolk Admirals. Since hoisting Calder last June for the first time in franchise history, the Admirals have started the season with a 7-10-0-0 record. Four different Bears scored en route to a 5-2 win over the defending Calder Cup Champions. Braden Holtby stonewalled 24 of 26 Admiral shots to record his sixth victory of the season.

Hibernating Offense Awakens Against Toronto

With time running short in November, the Hershey Bears scrapped for a win Sunday night against the defending Western Conference Champions, Toronto Marlies. Four goals were scored in the first 40 minutes, leading to a much needed 4-2 win.

Goal Shortage Continues in Bears Defeat to Phantoms

It has been no lie the Hershey Bears have been struggling of late in November. The Bears hopped the bus to head north to Adirondack Saturday morning, while being victims of defeat in five of their last six games. The Bears fired 24 shots on net, but the power play was no where close to effective in a 3-1 loss to the Phantoms.

Bears Drop Another in Oates’ Final Game

Adam Oates is gone, but the Hershey Bears slump remains. Following Wednesday night’s 4-0 loss to the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins, the Washington Capitals announced that Caps head coach and Hershey Bears co-coach Adam Oates would no longer be on the Bears bench. Oates had been in Hershey and on the Bears bench for every game this season. Members of the Caps staff will also return to Washington.
