After struggling to find the back of the net last few weeks, the Bears have relied on only a few players for their scoring. One of those players was Stan Galiev, who came into the game scoring Hershey’s last three goals. He kicked off the scoring Friday night by putting Hershey first on the board early in the first period.

After a huge win against archrivals Wilkes-Barre Wednesday night, the Hershey Bears looked to take that momentum into a two game weekend series. The Bears took on the Syracuse Crunch Saturday night, losing 4-1. They bounced back the next night against the St. John’s IceCaps and former Bears goalie Peter Budaj, with a 1-0 win.

As the turkey heats up in the oven for Thanksgiving tomorrow, the Hershey Bears – Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins rivalry is heating up with each meeting this season. Coming into this evening’s game, the Bears have won seven straight against the Penguins at Giant Center. Hershey was looking to make that eight straight with the traditional Thanksgiving eve game.

It was the return of two former Bears Sunday night. Julien Brouillette, who spent three seasons in Hershey on the Bears blue line, and goalie Peter Budaj, who started his pro career in Hershey back in 2002.

Now in St. John’s, Brouillette, who started the game, and Budaj, who was the backup Sunday, were on a side the both were very familiar with in Giant Center: the winning side. The IceCaps, lead by goalie Connor Hellebuyck’s 33 saves, shutdown Hershey, allowing them to leave Chocolate Town, USA with the two points and a win.

There’s not much to say about this game other than Philipp Grubauer was in the zone all night long, making 38 saves and earning his 7th career shutout as Bear. Chris Brown, who was just reassigned to Hershey today, scored the games only goal in the first period, giving Hershey the 1-0 win. Enjoy these photos.

After a tough loss Friday night in Syracuse, the Hershey Bears looked to bounce back against archrival Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. The Baby Pens came out with an early 2-0 lead with two goals from Jayson Megna. Hershey would not go down without a fight though, scoring three unanswered from Philippe Cornet, Connor Carrick, and a penalty shot from Chandler Stephenson to give Hershey the 3-0 win over WBS.

After a comeback win Saturday night, the Bears faced off against the Hartford Wolf Pack for the second time in as many nights. After two early goals from Connor Carrick and Nathan Walker, Hershey was cruising with a 2-1 lead into the second. Yet Harford would not go down without a fight, as former Bear Chris Bourque would tie the game and Oscar Lindberg scoring to give Hartford the win.

After a three game losing skid on the road, the Chocolate and White returned to Giant Center to take on the Hartford Wolf Pack. After falling behind 2-0 heading into the third period, the Bears were able to score four unanswered goals against the team formally called the Whale, as Chris Brown, Connor Carrick, and Kris Newbury (twice) all found the back of the net in Hershey’s 4-2 win.

In his third start as a Hershey Bear, Pheonix Copley recorded his second shutout in a row and improved to 3-0, thanks to three goals form his teammates. Philippe Cornet, Chandler Stephenson, and Dustin Gazley all found the back of the net for the Chocolate and White. Hershey comes out of the weekend 2-1, with two good wins at home as they improve to 5-2-0 on the season and take over the top spot in the East Division.

The Bears kicked off their home season Saturday night against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. Hershey topped the baby Penguins of a score 4-1 with goals coming from Tim Kennedy, Dane Byers, Casey Wellman, and a penalty shot goal from Dustin Gazley. Hershey will take on Lehigh Valley Saturday night against the Phantoms.
