Division Semifinal series.
The Bears suffered their first defeat of the series Wednesday night by a 2-0 result. Head coach
Todd Nelson echoed very blunt sentiments about his team’s performance in saying that Lehigh
Valley Phantoms played like men, whereas the Bears – in his assessment – played like boys.
Coming off a dominating performance in game two the Bears had a chance to deliver a knock out blow in this series against the Phantoms and take a sweep into the next round.
Right from the puck drop it was apparent that would not be the case at the PPL Center. While Hershey looked good briefly five-on-five early on, the Phantoms had a little more burst in their skates and it didn’t talk long for them to capitalize as Hershey did not resemble anything of the hockey team we are used to seeing.
Following game one of the series against Lehigh Valley, Dylan McIlrath stopped by to talk to the media. After a quick round of hellos and handshakes (which are always appreciated), Mac took to the podium.
The captain answered a few hockey-related questions before he took on the really tough ones.

It’s well known that the first game of the AHL division semifinal series between the Hershey Bears and Lehigh Valley Phantoms was defensive. The Bears scored 229 goals in the regular season, the second highest in the division, but Lehigh Valley kept it to a 2-1, one score game that became close all of a sudden on Wednesday night.
