After the news broke Monday night of former Hershey Bears forward Andrew Carroll’s death, we are heartbroken to provide a sad update to the story.
On Tuesday, Chicago Police confirmed Carroll “jumped from the upper level roadway to the lower level roadway on his own accord.”
The 32-year-old was found around 4:30 AM on Sunday morning at Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport. He was pronounced dead before 3 PM Monday afternoon.
Former teammates of Carroll’s have been paying tributes since the news broke Monday morning.
My thoughts are with Andrew Carroll’s family today. He was a great teammate and an even better guy. He always had our backs out on the ice and will be missed by so many. #AC13

Devastated to hear about the passing of Andrew Carroll. I was lucky enough to be his teammate in Juniors/ Pro and to call him my buddy. I’ll miss that big smile of his.
