Colby Williams Scores First Pro Goal, Overtime Game Winner
Colby Williams has been a very nice surprise for Bears fans early in this young season. The 21-year-old rookie defenseman, who only had one point coming into his fifth game of the season, posted two on Friday night, including his first AHL goal of his career to win the game for the Bears.
Vitek Vanecek Makes Incredible Stick Save
In his first win of the season, Vitek Vanecek had a lot happen. He made some fantastic saves, his defense made some beautiful clearances, and his teammate and countryman Jakub Vrana gave up his number one star of the game to him. Oh yeah, and he also made one of the best saves you will see all season.
Early on in the third period, Lehigh Valley was attacking and put a nice wrist shot on net. Vitek would make the first save, but the puck came loose in front and got fed to Phantoms forward Andy Miele. That’s when one of the most acrobatic saves I have ever seen occurred.
Whether on purpose or by accident, Vanecek let his stick go flying. But the way he threw it, was perfectly in line with Miele’s shot, deflecting the puck away and preserving Hershey’s 3-2 lead. This is something you have to see.
Vitek Vanecek Gets First Win of Season in Hershey’s 3-2 Win
The Hershey Bears are rolling right now, with points in five straight games, and two consecutive home wins, Hershey now has eight points in seven games this season.
Following up a 7-2 victory over Binghamton the night before, the Bears came out for Pink the Rink Sunday night against the Lehigh Valley Phantoms looking for a weekend sweep. The Bears were able to get that win, with some help from their goalie Vitek Vanecek who got his first win of the season after two quality outings this season where he could not get his first W of the season.
Bears Beat Binghamton with a Touchdown of Goals, 7-2
The Hershey Bears scored a touchdown worth of goals tonight, while Binghamton could only manage a safety. That means the Bears are the victorious team.

Sunday night’s game was Gazley’s first of the season. This is his four season with the Bears. In 61 games last season, Gazley scored 31 points with 14 goals, including four goals and nine points in 16 playoff games.

Hershey Bears and Washington Capitals Extend Affiliation Through 2019-20
The Hershey Bears and Washington Capitals have announced an affiliation extension through the 2019-20 season.
“I think it’s good considering the coaching staff is under contract for a couple more years,” Bears head coach Troy Mann said. “I think it has been a great fit for both organizations. A lot of winning has been done here since 2005-06. It’s important to the community, important to the fan base to know that the NHL team is going to be here long term. I think once Bryan [Helmer] became the VP, one of the things he talked about was doing a longer extension.”
