Mondays are normally the worst day of the week, but the night of Monday, May 10 was definitely a fun one.

Prior to Game 4 of the Hershey Bears and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins Atlantic Division Finals, the two teams had what we are calling The Tea Party at The Red Line during warm-ups. It all started after Tom Sestito was looking to start trouble skating up and down the red line in warm-ups, going from Chris Bourque to Zach Sill, then Liam O’Brien, who he has some past history with.

As the Hershey Bears prepare for their 66th appearance in the Calder Cup Playoffs, the Chocolate and White will face the Portland Pirates for the first time since the 2006 Calder Cup Eastern Conference Finals.

A Hershey Bears first will happen Wednesday night in Philadelphia. The first every matchup of two Hershey Bears goalies that played together on the same Bears Calder Cup team will face off in a Stanley Cup Playoff game. Michal Neuvirth and Braden Holtby, who played together on the 2009-10 Calder Cup team, will start for their respective teams in game four of the first round match-up between the Philadelphia Flyers and the Washington Capitals.

Tuesday night at the Harrisburg Senators game, Bears defenseman Erik Burgdoerfer and forward Liam O’Brien had the opportunity to throw out the first pitch.

“We were just at the rink this morning and they asked if anyone wanted to come out and throw the first pitch at the ballgame and watch the Senators play,” said Burgdoerfer. “I’m a big baseball fan. When I was a kid, probably until I was ten, [I played baseball].”

Hershey Leads League Attendance for Tenth Season, Over 3.6 Million Fans in Same Period

For the tenth consecutive season, the Hershey Bears lead the American Hockey League in attendance. This season the Bears continued their dominance as they averaged 9,790 fans per game. Since 2006, Giant Center has had over 3.6 million people have come through its doors for regular season Bears games. Below are all the attendance numbers for the last ten seasons.
