Hershey with Big Hole to Fill After Loss of Jakub Vrana

Yesterday afternoon, we learned of the loss of Jakub Vrana for the next three to four months for the Hershey Bears after a wrist injury that was sustained during practice last week.

Hershey was working on a defensive zone drill when Vrana got caught in a battle in the corner. “His stick caught in the boards and consequently his wrist went into the boards funny,” head coach Troy Mann said. “We thought he was going to be okay, but then it swelled up overnight.”

Young Pens Fan Who Received Pucks, Jersey Gets Third Puck at AHL Hershey Game

The 8-year-old who became an internet celebrity after having a puck snatched away from him at a Pittsburgh Penguins game attended the Hershey Bears game Saturday night and completed the hat trick, getting a third puck from Bears trainer Dan “Beaker” Stuck.

Trey Dopson attended Thursday night’s Pittsburgh Penguins game between the Pens and Buffalo Sabres. Sabres head coach Dan Bylsma spotted the youngster, tossing him a puck over the glass behind the bench. Out of nowhere, an older man grabbed the puck, snatching it way from Trey.

VIDEO: Hershey Bears Players Carve Pumpkins for Halloween

Earlier this week, we had three Hershey Bears players carve pumpkins to see how they would do. Madison Bowey, Travis Boyd, and Nathan Walker were our subjects, carving everything from the Bears logo to a scary face. Walker, who’s from Australia, said caving pumpkins is not a normal tradition down under. For a first timer, Walker did pretty well. You can see all the carved squashes below with the whole event being recorded on video.

Chris Bourque Scores Game Winner in Return to Hershey

The last time Chris Bourque wore the Bears sweater in Giant Center was 1,275 days ago, playing in game 4 against Wilkes-Barre/Scranton in the first round of the Calder Cup playoffs in 2012. He scored an empty net goal in Hershey’s win that game.
