A playoff game usually doesn’t result in a 10 goal effort, but the Hershey Bears put together their best offensive game of the season and beat the Worcester Sharks 10-4 on Friday night to advance to the Calder Cup conference semi-finals.

As the Hershey Bears prepare for game 1 of their first round series against the Worcester Sharks, Chocolate Hockey is following the team on the road as they go for Calder Cup number 12. With the East Division magic number down to four heading into Friday night’s game against Binghamton, the Hershey Bears looked to wrap up the regular season with two big wins. They did just that, taking down Bingo 3-2 Friday night, and finishing the season with a win over Lehigh Valley for their 100th point on the year.
On Tuesday morning we were greeted with a news that Stan Galiev was recalled to the Washington Capitals. Galiev, who is having a career year, scoring 25 goals with 20 assists, including leading the AHL in power play goals. After grinding out the last two years spending time between the AHL and ECHL, struggling to stick in Hershey, the young star is getting his shot.
At Wednesday’s Hershey Bears game, there was a special request made by a fan during warm-ups. No, they didn’t want a puck or a stick, this fan wanted a date. Rachel Palepale, a senior at Central York High School, held up a sign behind the Bears bench saying Bears forward Dustin Gazley to prom.

On Saturday night, Bears forward Liam O’Brien was involved in a line brawl against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. O’Brien left the bench and was suspended after the game, pending a league investigation.

It was a meeting of the rivals in Hershey for one last time this regular season. The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins made their last stop in Chocolate Town, USA for the 2014-15 season. The Bears, who came into the game going 10-1-0-1 in 2015 was looking to expand their lead for first place in the East Division. With a packed Giant Center, this game did not disappoint.
