Michal Neuvirth Rehabbing In Hershey Saturday Night

For the first time since winning the Calder Cup in 2010 at Giant Center, Michael Neuvirth is back in a Hershey Bears uniform. “Neuvy” will get a rehab start with Hershey on Saturday after injuring his right ankle during warm-ups at the Caps game on November 29. Since the freak fall, he’s missed six games with the Caps. Neuvirth was with the Bears during morning skate on Friday before heading to Wilkes-Barre that night for the Bears game against the Penguins.

Washington Reassigns Patrick Wey to Hershey

Tuesday afternoon, the Washington Capitals announced that defenseman Patrick Wey was reassigned to the Hershey Bears. The 22-year-old made his NHL debut with the Caps on December 7th against Nashville. The Pittsburgh born Wey scored his first professional goal with Hershey against Binghamton last month after starting the season with Reading.

It’s early December, so you know what that means: teddy bear toss time! This year was a record breaking one for the Chocolate and White faithful, where 9,601 fans threw 12,890 stuffed animals for the Children’s Miracle Network. Hershey Bears Movember Campaign in Full Force

It’s become a nationwide awareness and fund raising effort for men’s health and ten members of the Hershey Bears are taking part. “Movember” gets men to grow mustaches in the month of November to increase conversation about men’s health, getting them to take action with visits to the doctor, and to raise money for research for prostate and testicular cancer. Last year alone, the Movember campaign raised over $147 million.
