Hershey Bears Wives Auction Pink Sticks for Breast Cancer Awareness

Saturday night, the Hershey Bear Wives joined forces with Mixed Up Productions at Giant Center to help raise money for the American Cancer Society. The players painted their sticks pink, some of which were used in warm-ups before the game against the Marlies, and were then put into a silent auction.

Keith Aucoin Makes Grand Return to Hershey

Keith Aucoin may be in a different uniform, but Hershey Bears fans treated him like he still wore the chocolate and white on Sunday night. Aucoin returned to Hershey for the first time since signing with Toronto in the off season. Aucoin got an ovation every time his name was announced and even when he took the ice in warmups.

Bears Drop Another in Oates’ Final Game

Adam Oates is gone, but the Hershey Bears slump remains. Following Wednesday night’s 4-0 loss to the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins, the Washington Capitals announced that Caps head coach and Hershey Bears co-coach Adam Oates would no longer be on the Bears bench. Oates had been in Hershey and on the Bears bench for every game this season. Members of the Caps staff will also return to Washington.

Hershey Bears fans welcomed an old friend back to Giant Center, but his new team wasn’t very friendly. Former Bears defenseman Dean Arsene returned as a member of the St John’s IceCaps and helped beat the Bears 2-1 at Giant Center on Saturday night.

Bears End Road Trip with Win in Wilkes-Barre

Wilkes-Barre Township, PA – A Panoramic of Mohegan Sun Arena before the Bears faced-off against the Penguins (Tim Stough – Sweetest Hockey on Earth)

Early Friday, EA Sports showed their “AHL Sim of the Week,” featuring Hershey and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton in the simulation. The simulation showed the Bears coming out on top with a 2-1 victory. The Chocolate and White must have heard because they would take the non-virtual two points with a 3-1 win over the Baby Pens.

Hershey Bears Participating in Movember

This season, all the Hershey Bears will be taking apart of “Movember.” Movember is an event during the month of November when people grow mustaches to raise awareness for men’s health issues. The Bears are growing “mo” throughout the month to raise money for this cause. We will be keeping tabs on the guy’s ‘staches all month long with photos and updates.
