Hershey Bears Announce 2012 Hall of Fame Class

Tuesday morning, in the latter part of Hurricane Sandy coming through Central PA, the Hershey Bears announced their 2012 Hall of Fame Class. Lloyd S. Blinco, Arthur Fausnacht, Ralph Keller, Willie Marshall, Frank Mathers, Mike Nykoluk, and John B. Sollenberger will all be inducted into the Bears Hall of Fame December 19th, 2012 when the Bears take on the Norfolk Admirals.

Every year, Hershey hold an autograph night for fans to meet their favorite Bear and get their signature. This year, it was in October, unlike last year’s when it was in April. Despite the date change, Bears fans still came out in droves to meet their favorite players. Below the jump, check out some of my photos from the night!

Hershey Bears Release New Ad Featuring Philipp Grubauer

New Hershey Bears promotional ad released today on the Bears Facebook page

Earlier today the Hershey Bears released a new promotional ad. The photo features current Bears goalie, Philipp Grubauer and former Bears goalie, Claude Defour (which we figured out after a tip from our Facebook page from friend of the blog, Kim Payne,) in the same pose. The photos have been merged to make the photo look crazy awesome and give it the aspect of both goalies as one.

Stan Galiev Breaks Stick in Hershey Bears Hardest Shot Competition

The start of the hockey season is almost here, which means it’s time for Season Ticket Holder pickup night for many teams around the country. Thursday night, the Hershey Bears held their event, which also included the annual hardest shot contest. This year, however, the combination of a malfunctioning radar gun and Stan Galiev‘s stick fracturing in half made for some pretty hilarious moments.

Bears Release New Logo, Jersey, and Coco

After weeks of speculation, the August 29th Season Ticket Holder Event has come and past and we have some very cool new logos, jerseys, and a mascot to look at. Wednesday night the Chocolate and White actually went back to chocolate and white, dropping the maroon “Swiping Bear” and bringing in the new Roaring Bear. Along the new logo, the Bears also announced much, much more.

A Look Inside Bob Hartley’s “High Intensity Hockey Camp”

At first glance the York (PA) City Ice Arena’s rink looked like it was simply holding a summer time hockey camp. There is no indication that the man running the camp has some incredible coaching credentials. This week, Calgary Flames coach Bob Hartley is running his annual Bob Hartley High Intensity Hockey Camp. Hartley coached the Hershey Bears to their eighth Calder Cup title in 1997. He still loves Central Pennsylvania returns every year for his camp
