22. Ryan Potulny’s number. Also the number of seconds into over time he scored his 22nd goal of the season. That was also the game winning goal, giving Hershey a 2-1 win over the Springfield Falcons.
Over the past few weeks, Hershey’s Giant Center has been the epicenter of many PIAA (Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association) District III playoff basketball games. Saturday afternoon, the Chambersburg Trojans and the Harrisburg Cougars faced-off for the AAAA District III Championship at 1pm. That same day however, the Hershey Bears and the Binghamton Senators would compete for two points in the AHL standings.

The Bears have gone 1-6 in their last seven games, which is not good. Not good at all. But the Bears got that first win in five games with a big win with a 3-0 shutout over the Binghamton Senators.

Have you ever played the game Battleship? It felt like the Bears and Admirals were playing it tonight with both teams going back and forth all night long. But Norfolk was the winner of this game, hitting B1, 2, 3, and 4 and sinking S.S. Bears, 4-3.

Woah woah woah. I know what you’re thinking, “Oh great, another loss. I don’t want to read this,” but if you wait until the end, there will be a photo of a cute bear. But this game was a lost, and it wasn’t pretty. Both Braden Holtby and Dany Sabourin gave up three goals in a 6-0 loss to the Providence Bruins.

After a tough loss last night, the Bears looked to re-bound and win their second straight at home against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pens for the first time since the 2009-10 season. Scoring five goals tonight, all the Bears needed was the help of Braden Holtby, which they got. Holtby only allowed one goal on 35 shots, helping the Bears to a 5-1 victory over the Pens.

After two consecutive one goal victories, the Hershey Bears were on the edge of a third straight win Saturday night at Giant Center. But a penalty and one shootout goal were the difference between one and two points for the Bears against the Worcester Sharks.

The Hershey Bears came into tonight’s game facing a nine-game home losing streak to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. Last night, Wilkes-Barre play-by-play announcer Tom Grace said of today’s game that the Baby Pens will win their tenth straight at Giant Center and start calling it the Penguins’ second home. After today’s game, Grace might need to rethink what he said. Hershey came back from a 3-2 deficit in the third to win the game 4-3 in a shootout.
