Saturday morning, the Bears finally got to test out the outdoor ice with a practice. For a few guys, this was the first time they wore skates on the pond at Hersheypark Stadium, but for others this was their second time out after the family skate. Tonight the Hershey Bears and their families took to the Hersheypark Stadium ice for the first time. There was no sticks or puck involved, just fun and some loved ones. The broadcast TV crew also got some great shots for Sunday’s telecast, one of which includes d-man Steve Oleksy providing some very funny moments.

It was a very foggy Sunday night in Hershey, the Bears had just won against the Connecticut Whale, and the outdoor rink at Hersheypark Stadium was getting prepared for an important game in a week. We headed over to the stadium after the game and got a few shots as the rink crew was working on the ice.

Hershey Bears Teddy Bear Toss: 2012

It’s that time of year again; Teddy Bear Toss time. Every holiday season, thousands of Bears fans bring thousands of stuffed animals to Giant Center. When the Bears score the first goal, the stuffed animals rain onto the ice. 12,497 stuffed animals benefit Children’s Miracle Network. It took the Hershey Jr. Bears and even some players 20 minutes to gather the bears following Tomas Kundratek’s second period goal. Hershey Bears Wives Auction Pink Sticks for Breast Cancer Awareness

Saturday night, the Hershey Bear Wives joined forces with Mixed Up Productions at Giant Center to help raise money for the American Cancer Society. The players painted their sticks pink, some of which were used in warm-ups before the game against the Marlies, and were then put into a silent auction.

Graham Mink Really Wants the Lockout to End

Long-time Hershey Bear and fan favorite, Graham Mink, has still not found a new team to play for in the AHL. And in this photo he tweeted from his Twitter account tonight, you can see how far he has fallen. Mink is now trying his hand at a white collar job and from what we can tell, he’s still going through a bit of an adjustment period. A few observations: 1) it has to be hot as hell in all of that gear 2) I’m really not sure how he can type with those gloves on.
