Hershey Bears Participating in Movember

This season, all the Hershey Bears will be taking apart of “Movember.” Movember is an event during the month of November when people grow mustaches to raise awareness for men’s health issues. The Bears are growing “mo” throughout the month to raise money for this cause. We will be keeping tabs on the guy’s ‘staches all month long with photos and updates.

Hershey Bears Announce 2012 Hall of Fame Class

Tuesday morning, in the latter part of Hurricane Sandy coming through Central PA, the Hershey Bears announced their 2012 Hall of Fame Class. Lloyd S. Blinco, Arthur Fausnacht, Ralph Keller, Willie Marshall, Frank Mathers, Mike Nykoluk, and John B. Sollenberger will all be inducted into the Bears Hall of Fame December 19th, 2012 when the Bears take on the Norfolk Admirals.

Every year, Hershey hold an autograph night for fans to meet their favorite Bear and get their signature. This year, it was in October, unlike last year’s when it was in April. Hershey Bears Cap Weekend With 3-2 Win Over Pens

Sunday the Hershey Bears faced off against their I-81 rivals from Wilkes-Barre Township to close out the month of October. A night after celebrating the first win of the season at Giant Center and a stellar 35-save shutout by Braden Holtby, the Bears hung for a 3-2 victory.

Braden Holtby Shuts Out Albany in 3-0 Win for Hershey

After dropping three straight games including their first two games at Giant Center, the Hershey Bears looked for redemption against the Albany Devils. With Braden Holtby back in between the pipes for the first time since game one, he earns his first shut out of the season in a 3-0 Hershey victory.

Hershey Bears Auction Off 75th Anniversary Jerseys For Charity

If you recall on Saturday, the Hershey Bears wore special sweaters for their home opener to celebrate their 75th year in existence. After the game, the organization held a special event down at center ice and auctioned off each player’s jersey. The end result? The Bears raised an extraordinary $39,950 for their charities and a few lucky fans got to go home with a personally signed game-used jersey from their favorite player.

New to SHOE this season will be a “weekend in photos” post. Both Kyle and myself are credentialed to shoot Bears games in different areas of Giant Center. And as you might of imagined, we take a lot of pics. So many in fact that they can’t all fit into our game recaps. So instead of keeping these pictures on our cutting room floor, we’ll post the most notable ones in this weekly segment.

Hershey Bears Release New Ad Featuring Philipp Grubauer

New Hershey Bears promotional ad released today on the Bears Facebook page

Earlier today the Hershey Bears released a new promotional ad. The photo features current Bears goalie, Philipp Grubauer and former Bears goalie, Claude Defour (which we figured out after a tip from our Facebook page from friend of the blog, Kim Payne,) in the same pose. The photos have been merged to make the photo look crazy awesome and give it the aspect of both goalies as one.
