Nathan Walker’s OT Goal Propels Bears to 1-0 Win in Game One

It took 67 minutes and 38 seconds, but the Hershey Bears were able to break a scoreless tie in overtime to take a 1-0 win in Game One of their first-round series in Lehigh Valley Friday night. Nathan Walker scored on a rebound of a Tyler Lewington shot to get Hershey the win in the extra session.

Bears Come Back to Beat Phantoms in Overtime 3-2 (GIFs)

With eleven minutes remaining in the third period, it looked like the end for the Hershey Bears. The team had surrendered an early 1-0 lead and trailed for the first time in the game to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, and in the midst of a critical last five games for Hershey, the team needed a comeback.

The Bears needed a perfect goal to solve Phantoms goaltender Alex Lyon, and they got it with a goal five minutes later from Riley Barber. The game would go to overtime when Travis Boyd got around the defense and roofed a shot that went in and out in a flash to get the Bears a critical 3-2 win.

Vitek Vanecek Gets First Win of Season in Hershey’s 3-2 Win

The Hershey Bears are rolling right now, with points in five straight games, and two consecutive home wins, Hershey now has eight points in seven games this season.

Following up a 7-2 victory over Binghamton the night before, the Bears came out for Pink the Rink Sunday night against the Lehigh Valley Phantoms looking for a weekend sweep. The Bears were able to get that win, with some help from their goalie Vitek Vanecek who got his first win of the season after two quality outings this season where he could not get his first W of the season.

Sunday night was a chance for the Hershey Bears to continue their dominance against the Lehigh Valley Phantoms and East Division. After a big OT win the night before against Wilkes-Barre, Hershey’s division lead was at five points coming into Sunday. A day win for Wilkes-Barre over Bridgeport would promise the Bears could not gain any ground, but still hold that five point lead.

Looking for their fifth straight win against Lehigh Valley, the Bears and Phantoms went back and forth all night long.

Coming off of the AHL All-Star break, the Hershey Bears looked to extend their winning streak to five games and accomplish a first in American Hockey League history. The Bears had 19,997 goals going into their game against Lehigh Valley Friday night, needed three to get to 20,000.

After a big win over Albany Saturday night, the Hershey Bears looked to extend their lead on their new first place lead in the East Division. Another five goal night did that for the Bears, giving them a 5-2 win over Lehigh Valley, and a three point lead at top of the East Division.

Hershey Takes 4-2 Win from Lehigh Valley

After coming off of a tough stretch of losing three straight games, the Hershey Bears faced off against the Lehigh Valley Phantoms exactly one week after being shutout by Anthony Stolarz in a 2-0 loss. Stolarz would get the nod again against the Chocolate and White, but this game would end a bit differently for the two teams.
