After an unsuccessful comeback Friday night, the Chocolate and White tried to bounce back against Binghamton on a snowy night in Hershey. With former 2009 Calder Cup Playoffs MVP Michal Neuvirth back between the pipes for the Bears, Hershey was on their a-game, scoring seven goals on 41 shots, winning 7-4 over the Senators.

Back-to-back wins. Those are words you’ve only seen once here this season and once again, it didn’t happen for the Bears on Friday. Coming off an impressive come from behind victory in Binghamton on Wednesday, the Bears failed to follow up with another victory and lost to Wilkes-Barre Scranton on Friday night 5-3.

When the appearance of one of the opposing players is the highlight of the evening, you know it was a long night for the Hershey Bears. Andrew Gordon returned to Hershey, this time as a member of the St. John’s IceCaps. Gordon got two ovations while doing his pre-game ritual on the bench and another when introduced as a part of the IceCaps starting lineup. His team then handed the Bears their 7th home loss in ten games 4-2.

Hershey’s Offense Explodes for Back-to-Back Wins in Charlotte

The last five games may not have all been pretty, but the Hershey Bears have now tallied points in each of them, including wins in three. The Bears traveled south to battle the Charlotte Checkers of the Western Conference for back-to-back weekday tilts on Wednesday and Thursday.

The Chocolate and White exploded for a combined 13 goals in the two day span, including eight on Thursday en route to two straight wins in Charlotte.

Bears Blow Late Lead, Win in Marathon Shootout

Several days shy of the midway point in November, the Hershey Bears Hockey Club entered Saturday eyeing their third win of the season. The top affiliate for the New York Islanders, Bridgeport Sound Tigers came into the match up tied with Hershey in standings points near the Eastern Conference’s dungeon.

The Bears’ watched their two goal lead in the third period evaporate leading to another shootout at Giant Center. However despite a ten round marathon shootout with a combined 11 goals, Dane Byers netted the game-winner in the tenth round followed by a Philipp Grubuaer win to secure a 3-2 shootout win.

Bears Drop Late Lead, Fall in Shootout 4-3

After back to back losses to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, the task grew larger on Sunday with a duel against the 6-2-0-3 Norfolk Admirals. The lead affiliate of the Anaheim Ducks were led in the season’s opening month by goaltender John Gibson.

The Ducks’ prospective goalie entered play with a 4-1-2 record and an astonishing 1.44 goals against average, as well as a save percentage of 95.5 percent. Former Hershey center and 2006 Calder Cup champion Dave Steckel was listed on the Admirals’ roster wearing number 39. The Bears’ offense tallied three quick first period goals but surrendered a game tying marker with 1:02 left, leading to an Admirals’ shootout win.

Capitals Assign Four to Hershey, Bears Sign Nathan Walker

The Washington Capitals announced today they have assigned four players to the Hershey Bears after making Saturday’s cuts. Those four players are Casey Wellman, Ryan Stoa, Jeff Taffe, and Nathan Walker. Walker, as reported by the George McPhee on Saturday, has signed a one-year deal with Hershey.

Jon DiSalvatore Rises in OT, Bears Grab 2-0 Series Lead

Game Two of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals is in the history books with another stunning Hershey Bears victory. With the hockey game tied at 4-4 after 60 minutes, Jon DiSalvatore played the role of hero for Hershey and heart breaker for Providence. DiSalvatore scored only 3:05 into extra time to give his club a surprising 2-0 series lead over the top seeded Providence Bruins.

In the best of five, first round series, the Chocolate and White are just one win away from advancing to the second round of the Calder Cup Playoffs for the first time since 2010.
